Jotza Privacy Policy
We believe you should always know what data we collect from you and how we use it, and that you should have meaningful control over both. We want to empower you to make the best decisions about the information that you share with us. This Privacy Policy describes how and when AumGum, LLC collects, uses and shares your information when you use our Jotza Services.
Sale Of Personal Data: We do not sell Personal Data we have received from you. We do not serve or display third-party ads on our services based on the Additional Information We Receive. The ads are placed per their own logic and do not contain any user analytics in order target the user. We may use Additional Information We Receive to advertise our own services and improve our own marketing of our services, including placing ads about Jotza on third-party properties.
Information You Provide Us
Tip: We require certain information to provide our services to you. When you choose to share the information below with us, we collect and use it to operate our services.
Basic Account Information: When you create or reconfigure a Jotza account, you provide some Personal Identifiable Information such as an email address and password. In some cases, you may be required to provide your phone number, for example, to use Jotza via SMS or to help us prevent spam, fraud, or abuse.
Rules and guidelines for setting up your account on Jotza:
- Usernames must be unique. If someone else is already using the username you want, you will need to choose a different one.
- Your Jotza username and name can be up to 30 characters long.
- You can use letters, numbers, dash, underscore and periods in your username. Spaces and special characters (such as !, $, #, %) are not allowed.

- Your Jotza Name should not impersonate someone else, including public figures or celebrities unless it matches your actual name on official documents.
- Jotza has community guidelines, and your username should not contain offensive, inappropriate, or abusive language.
- Your Jotza name should not mislead others about your identity or the purpose of your account.
- You can change your Jotza username, but keep in mind that changing it frequently may confuse your followers.
- If you have a business account, your account name may also include your business name, which can be different from your username.
- Avoid using names that infringe on trademarks or other intellectual property rights.
Optional Account Information: You may provide us with profile information to make public or visible to other users, such as name, username or picture. You may choose to provide information to customize your account, such as general location, like country, state, city, for customizing the stores, products, products prices and availability we show you. We may use your contact information to send you information about our Services or to market to you. You may use your notification settings to unsubscribe from notifications from Jotza. Providing the Optional Account Information described in this section is entirely optional.
Communication Information: Any support requests, feedback, reviews, comments and suggestions you may provide regarding Jotza, or the Services, is entirely voluntary and AumGum, LLC will be free to use such Communication Information to respond to you as well as to inform changes and updates to the Services without any obligation to you.
Public Content, Product Photos, Data and Other Public Information: Our Services are primarily designed to help you track and manage your groceries. Our product database is in part crowd-sourced and most of the product information you provide us is information you are asking us to share with other users of the Service. This includes not only the photos and factual data of products (names, brands, ingredients, etc.), but also product ratings, reviews, etc. that result from your use of the Services. We may use this information to customize the content we show you and other users, including product offers or ads. Our default is almost always to make the product information you provide public for as long as you do not delete it from Jotza. Our Services broadly and instantly disseminate your public information to a wide range of users, customers, and services. When you share information or content like photos via the Services, you should think carefully about what you are making public.
Tip: When you submit grocery product photos and factual information to Jotza (for example: product names, brands, manufacturers, nutrition information, ingredients, etc.), it may be viewed all around the world instantly.
Private Content – Pantry Information: You may provide us with your “Pantry Information†such as your product item inventory, product usage data, expiration alarms, preferences, favorites, grocery and other lists, search terms, automated scanner picture captures. We organize this information in your Pantry. A Pantry may have one or more Jotza users as members and only members of the Pantry control its member list. By default you are the only member of your Pantry. The Pantry Information may be directly visible only to the users that are members of the corresponding Pantry.
We may use your Pantry Information to provide additional services to you and members of your Pantry, customize the content we show you, including product offers.
We may earn commissions on product offers we refer you to purchase through services of our affiliates. For example, when you view olive oil on Jotza and we display a link to olive oil products on a third-party website, like Amazon, and you follow that link and make a purchase, we may earn commission fees.
Tip: The Pantry Information like household inventory, product usage history, grocery lists, etc. is private and directly visible only to you and members of your Pantry. We may use it to provide you with additional services. We may use it to show you product offers or ads.
Location Data: You may choose to provide us with your device approximate or precise GPS location data.
We use Location Data to provide additional services to you such as automatic grocery store look-up.
We do not store Location Data, except in cases where Location Data may be captured as part of Log Data, see section on Additional Information We Receive About You†> “Log Data†section in our Privacy Policy.
Derived Data: We may use your Optional Account Information, Public Content and Private Content (for example: product item inventory, grocery lists, prices, expiration dates, alarms, etc.), to derive aggregate anonymized data – “Derived Data†that is not directly traceable to you and does not include Personal Identifiable Information. We may use the Derived Data to provide additional Jotza services to you and other users as well as share it with our affiliates. We may provider or sell analytics services that are in-part or wholly based on Derived Data, to third parities and affiliates.
Tip: Jotza may generate anonymized Derived Data that is not directly traceable to you and does not include Personal Identifiable Information. Some examples of Derived Data are grocery item prices, availability, popularity, shelf life and expiration dates, trends, etc. Jotza may use that Derived Data to provide additional Jotza services to you and other users and share that Derived Data with Jotza’s partners and affiliates. We may also provide and or sell analytics services powered by Derived Data to third parties and affiliates.
Additional Information We Receive About You
Tip: We collect and use your information listed below to provide our Services and to measure and improve them over time. We may use Usage & Diagnostics Data to improve our own marketing efforts when we market or advertise Jotza services.
Links: In order to operate our services, we keep track of how you interact with links across our services. This includes links in emails we send you and Jotza links that appear on our and other’s websites or mobile applications. If you click on an external link on our services, that website operator might figure out that you came from Jotza. They may also collect other personal data from you, such as cookie identifiers or your IP address.
Cookies: A cookie is a small piece of data that is stored on your computer or mobile device. Like many websites, we use cookies and similar technologies to collect additional website usage data and to improve our Services. Jotza may use both session cookies and persistent cookies to better understand how you interact with our Services, to monitor aggregate usage by our users and web traffic routing on our Services, and to customize and improve our Services. Most Internet browsers automatically accept cookies. You can instruct your browser, by changing its settings, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the websites you visit. However, some Services may not function properly if you disable cookies.
Log Data: We receive information anytime your device or computer makes a request to our servers such as when you view content on or otherwise interact with our services, which we refer to as “Log Dataâ€, even if you have not created a Jotza account. For example, when you use the Jotza app, visit our websites, sign into our services, interact with our email notifications, we may receive information about you. We may also generate Log Data when our services send messages, emails and notifications to you or otherwise perform operations involving your account for the purpose of operating our services, for example when we send a push notification to your device that a particular product is approaching its expiration date. This Log Data may include information such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, the referring web page, pages visited, location, precise GPS location, your mobile carrier, device information (including device and application IDs), search terms, and cookie information. We also receive Log Data when you click on, view, or interact with links on our services.
We use Log Data to operate our services and ensure their secure, reliable, and robust performance. For example, we use Log Data to analyze performance and scale our server capacity, analyze errors and validate deployed fixes.
Log Data is transient in nature and most Log Data is discarded as soon as our servers return the information requested by our apps, websites and other services you may use. We store some Log Data for as long as necessary to run our services, ranging from 24h up to 2 months.
Usage & Diagnostics Data: We automatically collect information about how you use our services and how our services are performing on your devices, which we refer to as “Usage & Diagnostics Dataâ€, even if you have not created a Jotza account. For example, when you install and use the Jotza app on your mobile device or visit our websites, we receive information about you. This Usage & Diagnostics Data includes information such as user logs and statistics of how you interact with our services, user interface interactions, Jotza account ID, anonymized IP address, operating system, your mobile carrier, device information (including device and application IDs), search terms (including those not submitted as queries), and cookie information as well as logs of errors, crashes and other unexpected operational conditions our applications and services encounter.
We use Usage & Diagnostics Data to analyze, improve and operate our services and ensure secure, reliable, and robust performance. For example, we use Usage & Diagnostics to fix crashes and implement reliability improvements in our apps and services.
We may also use Usage & Diagnostics data in relation to support request from you as well as to contact you regarding operational issues with our services.
We may use Usage & Diagnostics data to improve our own marketing efforts. For example, when you install our app from after clicking on our ad and subsequently make a purchase on our services we may infer that the particular ad was effective and we may adjust our ad campaigns accordingly.
How You Control Additional Information We Receive:
Cookies: Where applicable, we provide you with settings (cookie notice bar) to block non-necessary cookies like Google Analytics cookies that we use to collect Usage & Diagnostics Data when you visit Jotza.app.
Jotza App: Where applicable, in the Jotza app settings we provide you with ways to disable sharing of Usage & Diagnostics Data.
Account Information: We do not record your account information like email, name or user name with the Usage & Diagnostics Data. Instead, we use a unique Jotza account ID that associates the Usage & Diagnostics Data with your Jotza account.
IP Address: We automatically anonymize the IP address recorded with Usage & Diagnostics Data.
Use of Analytics: We use Analytics to collect and process some Usage & Diagnostics Data.
Information We Share and Disclose
Tip: In the limited circumstances where we disclose your private personal data, we do so subject to your control, because it is important for operating our services, or because it is required by law.
Service Providers: We engage service providers to perform functions and provide services for us in the United States, and other countries. For example, we use a variety of third-party services to help operate our services, such as hosting our various apps, websites, blogs, servers and databases, and to help us understand the use of our services, such as Google Analytics. We may share your private personal data with such service providers subject to obligations consistent with this Privacy Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures, and on the condition that the third parties use your private personal data only on our behalf and pursuant to our instructions (service providers may use other non-personal data for their own benefit).
Sellers of Goods and Services: If you buy goods or services on Jotza, we may provide the seller, commerce provider or marketplace with your name, email address, shipping address, Payment Information and Transaction Data to facilitate payment processing, order fulfillment and dispute resolution (including payment and shipping disputes) and to help prevent, detect and investigate fraud or other prohibited activities. Please refer to these third parties’ privacy policies for information about their privacy practices.
Law, Harm, and the Public Interest: Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Privacy Policy or controls we may otherwise offer to you, we may preserve, use, share, or disclose your personal data or other safety data if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to protect the safety of any person; to protect the safety or integrity of our platform, including to help prevent spam, abuse, or malicious actors on our services, or to explain why we have removed content or accounts from our services; to address fraud, security, or technical issues; or to protect our rights or property or the rights or property of those who use our services. However, nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to limit any legal defenses or objections that you may have to a third party’s, including a government’s, request to disclose your personal data.
Affiliates and Change of Ownership: In the event that we are involved in a bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your personal data may be sold or transferred as part of that transaction. This Privacy Policy will apply to your personal data as transferred to the new entity.
Non-Private or Non-Personal Information: We may share or disclose your non-private, aggregated or otherwise non-personal information, such as your public user profile information, Public Content Data and Derived Data about products and product trends.
Managing Your Personal Information With Us
Accessing or Rectifying Your Personal Data: If you have registered an account on Jotza, we provide you with tools and account settings to access, correct, delete, or modify the personal data you provided to us and associated with your account. You can download certain account information, including your product inventory. To submit a request related to access, modification or deletion of your information, you may also contact us as specified in the “Additional Information or Assistance†section of our Privacy Policy.
Deletion: You can request your account to be deleted by contacting us at harmony@Jotza.app at which point we will deactivate the account. For up to 7 days after deactivation it is still possible to restore your Jotza account if it was accidentally or wrongfully deactivated. Keep in mind that we may still keep copies of your non-private Public Content information like product information data and photos even after you deactivate your account.
Portability: Jotza provides you means to download your product inventory data. To submit a request related to portability of your information, you may also contact us as specified in the “Additional Information or Assistance†section of our Privacy Policy.
Object, Restrict, or Withdraw Consent: We provide you with means to manage the Usage & Diagnostics Data we receive.
Cookies: Where applicable, we provide you with settings (cookie notice bar) to block non-necessary cookies like Google Analytics cookies that we use to collect Usage & Diagnostics Data when you visit Jotza.app.
Jotza App: Where applicable, in the Jotza app settings we provide you with ways to disable sharing of Usage & Diagnostics Data.
Use of Analytics: We use Analytics to collect and process some Usage & Diagnostics Data. We use standard and widely available tools such as Google Analytics, AWS, Firebase to collect and process information and additional control options you have with Google.

Children and Our Services
Our services are not directed to children, and you may not use our services if you are under the age of 16. You must also be old enough to consent to the processing of your personal data in your country (in some countries we may allow your parent or guardian to do so on your behalf).
Changes to This Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy anytime or from time to time depending on the required changes to keep the app live. The most current version of the policy will govern our use of your information and will always be at Jotza.app/policy/privacy/. If we make a change to this policy that, in our sole discretion, is material, we may notify you via Jotza update or email to the email address associated with your account. By continuing to access or use the Services after those changes become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy.
In addition to the above Terms, the following additional terms apply to users based in specific regions:
Asia: Users in Asia agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including those governing data privacy and online content.
Americas: Users in the Americas agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including those governing data privacy and copyright.
EU: Users in the EU are subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and agree to Jotza's Privacy Policy.
